Learn More About Your TRICARE Pharmacy Benefit at October 20 Webinar

By TRICARE Communications

Did you know that if you have coverage under a TRICARE health plan, you have TRICARE pharmacy benefits, too? It’s true. The TRICARE Pharmacy Program is comprehensive. It offers accessible and affordable prescription drugs for you and your family. Wherever you live, TRICARE wants you to know how you can use the pharmacy benefit to best meet your needs.

Learn how to use your pharmacy benefit to the fullest. Join the TRICARE webinar, “Maximizing Your TRICARE Pharmacy Benefits,” on Thursday, Oct. 20, from 1 to 2 p.m. ET. You must register for the webinar if you want to participate.

“The pharmacy benefit TRICARE offers is always changing to better serve service members and their families,” said U.S. Public Health Service Cmdr. Teisha Robertson, a pharmacist with the Pharmacy Operations Division at the Defense Health Agency. “We hope you’ll join this webinar. You’ll hear from experts on how to make filling your prescription drugs, filing claims, and managing your prescriptions easier. You’ll also learn how to navigate upcoming changes to the pharmacy benefit.”

As stated in the TRICARE Pharmacy Program Handbook, the TRICARE Pharmacy Program provides prescription drug coverage to more than 9.6 million eligible service members, retirees, and their family members. Express Scripts administers your TRICARE pharmacy benefit.

Remember, if you have coverage through the US Family Health Plan (USFHP), you have separate pharmacy coverage. This means you must use USFHP pharmacy providers.

The webinar will provide an overview of the pharmacy benefit for those who are new to TRICARE or need a refresher. You’ll also learn how to:
A Q&A will follow the presentation. If you want to participate, be sure to register. Registration for the Oct. 20 webinar is limited.

Understanding Medicare Part D and TRICARE Pharmacy Coverage

You may already have TRICARE For Life (TFL). Or perhaps you’re eligible to transition to this coverage soon. Either way, you may have questions about your TRICARE prescription drug coverage. For instance, you may wonder if you need to have Medicare Part D, Medicare’s prescription coverage. You don’t need Medicare Part D to have TFL.
